The residency is designed to support:

 

– new or substantially developed jazz and improvised performances;

– lecture-performances and improvisation laboratories;

– artistic research presentations;

– recordings, writing, scores, charts, and experimental documentation;

– expanded methods of improvisation, rehearsal, coordination, and listening;

– clearer articulation of embodied, aural, and tacit knowledge;

– critical engagement with jazz genealogies and urban histories;

– accountable relations to source materials and inherited practices;

– public presentations at the seventh Bled Contemporary Music Week;

– international artistic, pedagogical, and research relationships.

 

Development is not measured only by completion. It may consist in clarified methodology, revised assumptions, transformed ensemble structure, expanded vocabulary, sustainable process, or redistributed authorship and agency.
