WHY PARTICIPATE?
x. [lexicon] I. offers a framework for artists examining how jazz and urban musical practices are produced, transmitted, organized, valued, and transformed.
The residency provides international exchange, rigorous inquiry, time for experimentation, attention to embodied, aural, relational, and tacit knowledge, support for documentation, and presentation at the seventh Bled Contemporary Music Week.
It is intended for participants seeking not only to present work, but to understand how their practices became possible, operate under present conditions, and produce futures.
